Hey all
I have been reading a few American forums and they all seem to hate the standard stereo. To me its decent for standard but not overly great.
What do you all think?

I've replaced the stock head unit with an Alpine unit and massaged the sound around so to be a bit tighter and brighter than the stock...you can retain the current Bose set-up if you interface it properly with the head unit and get individual channel control. I still don't think it's anywhere near as good as the after market Pioneer/Alpine setup i had in my old car...but the difference doesn't justify the price i'd have to pay for all new equipment.

Damned BOSE crud...

In the next couple weeks I'm getting my Pioneer DVD player/6 disk in dash stacker, Focal 165 k3p splits and an Alpine PDX 4150 amp thrown into mine... subs and sub amp to come later....

I mean seriously, its meant to be a "high end" system.. its all 2 ohm gear.. and to top it off everything has PAPER CONES....

Well i got my stereo put in the other day and i must say its a f**king huge improvement, even with out subs.

So far it consists of: Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD head unit, Focal 165K3P 3way splits, Alpine PDX4150 amp a shit load of Dynamat.

To be added at a later point: 2 X 27KX 11 inch subs and an Alpine PDX1.1000 amp

Has anyone here actually seen the stock speakers, sub and amps??? WHAT A JOKE.

I think the stock stereo in these cars is actually quite good.
